This bottom of the table clash ended in a home victory, and 9 important points, for Canvey over Wickford Community.  The last of these points came in the doubles where Jo Hills and Peter Cray recovered from 2 sets down after taking note of sound advice from skipper Lee McGonagle who told them to 'stop smashing the ball off the table and into the net'. In the singles there were maximums for Jo and Peter.  Wickford's point came courtesy of a win for Stephen Chooi over Lee.
