About Us

Brandon Table Tennis Club was formed in February 2013 and has, in a short period of time grown into a very successful, friendly and flourishing club. It is based at Brandon  Community Centre  in Durham and currently runs six sessions throughout the week. It caters for all ages and all levels of ability offering opportunities for both social and competitive table tennis. The premises is wheelchair friendly enabling us to offer the sport to all. The Club also provides coaching opportunities directed by our level 1 and 2 UKCC quailified coaches. The success of the Club is enhanced by the hard work of an excellent group of volunteers.

The Club is affiliated to Table Tennis England and is recognised as a Premier Club. This gives the club the opportunity to receive recognition that we are a club showing high levels of good practice and ongoing development. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for the enjoyment and participation in table tennis for all.

in 2016 the Club received  an accolade from Table Tennis England as  the Pride of Table Tennis Club of the Yearand in 2018 was recognised with a North East Disability Sports Award.
The Club is also affiliated to the Sunderland Table Tennis Association and the Northumberland Table Tennis Association. Teams from the Club play at all levels within the Leagues organised by these associations and have gained much success. Notably our A tean in the Sunderland League finished as league champions in the 2019-20 and 2021-22.

The Club is committed to working with the community to encourage people to become active in table tennis and has organised numerous outreach programmes in local schools and other organisations through the efforts of our UKCC qualified coaches. Our coaches have also ran structured Coaching Courses at the Club and have participated in the Table Tennis England TT Kidz programme that introduces youngsters to the game.
