Ormesby E are the early leaders in Division 2 of the Cleveland & District Summer Table Tennis League.
As a result of their victory in last week's fixtures to the higher ranked Ormesby C team by 9 sets to 1. Jim Wyatt, Dave Reeve both scored hat tricks while Graeme Walker won two. The only set to go in the C teams' direction was when David Wright beat Walker by three games to one. The closest set of the evening was when Walker defeated Keith Turland by 3-2.
The team in second place, Westbourne B from Hartlepool, scored a convincing victory over the Ormesby F Wheelers by 10 sets to 0. John Harper, Andy Greason and Lee Kelly all scored comfortable hat tricks.
In the frame for honours are the Beaumont Accountancy Nomads B team who won their fixture with an 8-2 victory over the Ormesby Hopes A team. Jane Lynas and Bruce Lowther both scored hat tricks while Phil Pugh won one after losing to Tim James and George Tickner. The match against Tim James was won by the Ormesby youngster, 12-10 in the decider.
Ormesby D kept their interest in the Championship race alive with 10-0 victory over Ormesby F Wheelers with hat tricks from Tom Hand, John McCullow and Syd Davis.
In the League Table Ormesby E are the clear leader with 28 points from 3 matches with Westbourne second with 23. Beaumont B are in third place with 18 from 2, whilst Ormesby D are in fourth on 17 from 2.
