 First Division Double Champions:   Steve Miller and Nick Harris

Diss and District Table Tennis Championship – Open Singles

The Open Singles took place at Diss High School on Tuesday 21^st May 2024 from 7:00pm until  9:30pm.

A total of 19 participants took part in this seasons open singles. The evening commenced with 4 groups of 4 and I group of 3. The winners of the group stage making up the players to go through to the quarter finals.

In the quarter finals:-

Nigel Howe got the better of James Crisp in 4 sets.

Glenn Johnson beat David Crisp in 3 straight sets.

Scott Boast won a long battle against Francis Webb eventually triumphing in the 5^th set.

Mark Waity lost to James Skilleter with some fine shots along the way.

Semi Finals

James went on to conquer Scott in 4 sets, but only after a great first leg which Scott won 11-8.

The other semi was won by Nigel against Glenn with a loss in the second game but eventually winning in 4 sets.

Final

This left James and Nigel to battle it out in the final.(the first and second seeds respectively). James was victorious with some great forehand smashes.

A big thank you to everyone who came along.

The Open Doubles Championships was held at Diss Scout Hut on Wednesday 19^th June 2024.

A total of 8 pairings took part in the competition.

The format was to be 2 groups of four who each played one another in the group and the top two pairing going through to the semi-finals.

In Group A the competitors were;- John Monk and Glenn Johnson.  James Skilleter and Dan Taylor. Trevor Cottee and Scott Boast. David Mortlock and John Bryant.

In Group B the competitors were:- Steve Griffee & Billy Howe.  Alan Levine & Aaron Phelan. James Crisp & Jotham Crisp.  Steve Miller & Nick Harris.
