Handicap Competition 2023-2024 will start w/c 5th February 2024

(Note all players entering this competition will have played a minimum of 3 league matches or be approved by at least 2 committee members)

Handicap league format.

Each  match consists of 2 legs up to 25. The player reaching 25 first wins that leg. In each game the player with the smaller handicap will start on nil. The other player start score is determined from the handicap score sheet.
Each player plays 3 matches of 2 legs.

If at the end of the match the result is 9-9 . Then two players have to play a decider. These two players should be nominated at the start of the match.
There are no doubles in the handicap competitions. If a leg reaches 24-24 then the player with the greater handicap gets to serve the final ball.

Handicap results cannot be entered directly to the website unlike league results. Results should be emailed to disstabletennis@hotmail.co.uk with a copy of the scorecard or full details of the individual player scores and result.

 

(If a walkover results in a handicap match, then the attending team will be awarded a 10-0 win with 430 points. If the full 18 games were awarded this would be too generous an advantage to give that would adversely affect the attainable positions other teams in that league could achieve.)

The teams in each league will play each other to determine their final position in the league. The top four teams in each league will go through to a quarter final.

The winner of league one will play the fourth place of league two (QF1). League two 3rd place plays league one 2nd place (QF2). League one 3rd place plays League two 2nd place (QF3) and League two 1st place plays league one 4th place(QF4)

Winner of QF1 plays winner of QF3, winner of QF2 plays winner of QF4 in semi final

Then the winners of these semi finals will play the final at a neutral venue
