Please note that Diss Cricket Club, Brome Sweepers B and Roydon Rebels have withdrawn from the handicap competition.From Brome both Jo and Kai are resting to recover from injury. James and Adam will be playing for the A team. Their handicaps stand as per the download sheets.

Handicap Competition 2024-2025 will start w/c 24th February 2025

(Note all players entering this competition will have played a minimum of 3 league matches during the past 2 seasons or be approved by at least 2 committee members)

It is now allowed to have a substitute player from another team. This is a modification to Rule 18a
To allow more team flexibility when players are unavailable, a player may compete for an alternative team on one occasion (only one occasion, after that he cannot be a substitute again) without compromising their availability to play for their designated team as indicated in the handicap players team list.

Handicap league format.

Each match consists of 2 legs up to 25. The player reaching 25 first wins that leg. In each game the player with the smaller handicap will start on nil. The other player start score is determined from the handicap score sheet.
Each player plays 3 matches of 2 legs.

If at the end of the match the result is 9-9. Then two players have to play a decider. These two players should be nominated at the start of the match.
There are no doubles in the handicap competitions. If a leg reaches 24-24 then the player with the greater handicap gets to serve the final ball.

Handicap results cannot be entered directly to the website unlike league results. Results should be emailed to disstabletennis@hotmail.co.uk with a copy of the scorecard or full details of the individual player scores and result.

(If a walkover results in a handicap match, then the attending team will be awarded points determined by the committee.)

The teams in the three leagues will play each other to determine their final position in the league. The top three teams in each league along with the best runner up of the three leagues will go through to a semi final.

Then the winners of these semifinals will play the final at a neutral venue.
