Match Report
Despite skipper Lewis Taylor being left out of the squad for this game, Palgrave still managed a solid 10-0 win over a determined Flotmen side who were unlucky to go away empty handed. Mark Durham put in a seasons best performance only dropping 1 leg on his way to a maximum with some outstanding attacking play which also earned him a first ever player of the match performance!! Dan Taylor was also in good form for the home side winning all 3 singles games playing exceptionally well to beat Kieran Brady in "The game of the night" which saw some excellent attacking play from both players, Dan eventually winning in 12-10 in the 4th set. James Skilleter also scored a maximum for the home side but was made to work hard by Kieran who nearly got the better of the big man, just losing out 11-9 in the fifth after James finally found some timing with his forehand smash! Dan teamed up with brother Lewis for the doubles to play Mark Beswick and Kit Marsden. Mark and Kit played well to win then first game but then Lewis started to warm up and find his attacking game, eventually carrying his team to victory in 4 tight sets, completing the 10-0 win.
With 4 games left, Palgrave sit 6 points clear and also have a game in hand of nearest rivals Shotguns A. However with an important meeting between the two coming up in the next few weeks it could still go down to the wire.
