The Eastern Valley Table Tennis League Division One Singles Tournament began this week. There were 18 entries split into 6 groups of 3 with the top 2 in each group progressing to the knock-out stages. The winners of Groups A to D ie Tony Collins, David D Lloyd, Ben Allen and Mark Farrow, qualified direct to the  Quarter-Finals with the rest of the qualifiers progressing to round 1.

Claire Flannagan beat Ray Goulding 11-7, 6-11, 11-5, 2-11, 11-5

Jozef Sujanec beat Eric Turner 13-11, 11-5, 8-11, 11-7

Mark Edmunds beat Iestyn Howells 11-9, 15-17,  11-8, 9-11, 11-6
