I thought it might be an idea to set up a memories section on the HTTA Website. We have a rich and proud history with the origins of the league dating back in the 30’s.

Thanks to the HTTA Diamond Jubilee book, written by the late Geoff Scruton in 1990, we have an excellent archive and pictures that we can refer back to. I’m sure there are many more articles and pictures hidden away, lost in attics, dusty cupboards, old storage boxes etc and it would be wonderful if we could begin to dig them out and show them to players both old and new.

I met up recently with Robin Maxfield and he showed me his archive of scorecards and press cuttings going back to the early 60’s along with two pictures from the paper that I’m using to start off the memory lane section.

There are some names mentioned that many of our older players will remember and of course there’s Robin himself.
