Premier Division
Youth and exuberance defeat age and experience in the clash at the top of the premier. Assassins with average age of seventeen defeated the experience of Hang Em High in a thrilling match. Leaders of the premier division Hang Em High with Andrew Sharland, Michael Bridger and Graham Barnes all experienced senior players suffered a 4-6 defeat at the hands of the Assassins team of Keigo Burnham, Ben Worley and Charlie Hough.
With this win Assassins go top by one point.
Assassins Ben Worley started the evening on a strong note with a five setter win over Graham Barnes. Keigo Burnham with a treble, Ben Worley with Two and Charlie Hough with one gave Assassins their win before the final doubles game.
For Hang Em High it was one for Graham Barnes, two from Michael Bridger and the doubles win for Graham Barnes and Michael Bridger over Keigo Burnham and Charlie Hough.
Dynamos came through with maximum points 8-2 win over Game Changers. Trebles for Richard Cosens and Dennis Haydon with Richard Caddy winning one. The doubles went to Dennis Hayden and Richard Cosens over Jim Skinner and Angus Ogg, for Game Changers a win apiece for Angus Ogg and Jim Skinner.
Bullets who could only field two players went down 7-3 to ping Panthers. For Panthers two wins and a walkover for John Strang and Alan Stone, with one walkover for Lynne Trussell.
For Bullets, a win each for Frederick Bodeau and John Burnham with the same pair winning the doubles
Division One
Top of the table Saint Andrews defeated Bashers 7-3. Trebles for Terry Dean and Stuart Vincent with Terry and Stuart defeating Bashers Tim Grant and John Bridger in the fifth set in the doubles.
For Bashers a win apiece for John Bridger, Tim Grant and Oliver Neil to earn them a point.
In second place Dark Horses did well to get maximum points against Paddlers. It was trebles for Ross Knowlson and Steve Ive with two for Viv Cole, with Ross and Steve defeating Paddlers Phil Harvey and Samantha Stoner in the doubles.
For Paddlers Lyle Cyster defeated Viv Cole for their one win. Final score 9-1 to Dark Horses.
The match between X Men and Spin Masters was a 6-4 win for the senior players of X Men but again Spin Masters juniors showed great improvement. For X Men it was two wins for both Peter Caddy and Peter Dunsby with one win for Tom Christophersen. The two Peters combined to defeat Tommy Worley and Riccardo Bagaini in the doubles.
For Spin Masters a great treble for junior Riccardo Bagaini over very strong opposition plus one win for Tommy Worley.
Division Two
Leaders Magiks again proved their superiority by defeating Dangermen 9-1. Mel Sims and Kevin Deacon with three wins and Alistair Blue with two. Mel and Kevin defeated Colin Cooper and Tony Pells in the doubles. For Dangermen blushes were spared by Tony Pells defeating Alistair Blue.
Still in second place and battling for promotion Burning Rubbers defeated Smashing Pumpkins 9-1. Trebles for Steve Lee and Gavin Pitts with two from Chris Slade. The doubles also went to Burning Rubbers. For Smashing Pumpkins the lone win came from Simon Howard.
A very good win for the two man team of Pingwins who defeated Blade Runners 7-3. In top form Adam Wiseman and Paul Lewis both got trebles and went on to also win the doubles.
For Blade Runners Malcolm Norwood, Annick Lieutaud and Adrian Sykes earned a point with three walkovers.
Cutting Edge team with Oscar Wiseman, Freddie Wiseman and David Pollard all with trebles and the Wiseman brothers winning the doubles defeated the girls of Swifts 10-0.
