Match Report - Week 19 - March 21st 2018

Premier Division

A very determined team of Hang Em High go further away from second placed Assassins with an 8-2 win over Dynamos. Both Michael Bridger and Andrew Sharland were in fine form with both claiming trebles and third player Stephen Hoad winning one and thus enabling the doubles pairing of Michael Bridger and Andrew Sharland by defeating  Dynamos Richard Cosens and Richard Caddy to claim maximum points.
For Dynamos a singles win apiece for Richard Cosens and Dennis Hayden,

Assassins dropped a point despite defeating Bullets 7-3. This puts them four points behind the leaders and a mountain to climb if they are to retain the title.
A treble for Keigo Burnham two from Ben Worley and one from Charlie Hough, with Charlie and Keigo defeating David Champneys and Sam Clark in the doubles.
For Bullets Two from Sam Clark and one from David Champneys, earning their team a point.

Ping Panthers defeated Game Changers 8-2 with a treble from Marc Burman plus two each from Lynne Trussell and John Strang. Lynne and Marc defeated Jim Skinner and Mike Day in the doubles for maximum points
For Game Changers a win for Jim Skinner and Costas Kyriacou.
It will be a real battle at the closed Championships on April 22nd with any one of six players capable of taking the crown off Marc Burman. 


Division One

For leaders St Andrews despite another point dropped it is still another step closer to premier play.
This week the usual trebles from Terry Dean and Stuart Vincent who again combined to win the doubles over Jim Griffin and Andy Steel.
For Lindfield Thunderbolts it was a win apiece for Jim Griffin, David Metcalfe and Andy Steel for a hard earned point.


An excellent 7-3 win for Spin Masters over Paddlers saw Riccardo Bagaini with a treble then Tommy Worley and Claudio Bagaini bagging two each.
For Paddlers it was two wins for Lyle Cyster who with Cathy Seiderer defeated Spin Master Claudio and Riccardo Bagaini in the doubles.


X Men and Bashers had real battle with eight out of ten games going to four and five sets before X Men came out 6-4 winners. For X Men a treble for Peter Dunsby, two for Peter Caddy and One for Jim Allum.
For Bashers two for John Bridger one for Oliver Neil plus Oliver and Patrick Neil defeating Peter Dunsby and Peter Caddy in the doubles.


Division Two
Magiks division two leaders had an 8-2 win over a two man team of Pingwins.
Two wins and walkover for Tony Turk and Kevin Deacon plus a walkover for Mel Sims with the doubles going to Tony Turk and Kevin Deacon.
For Pingwins both Rupert Browning and Paul Lewis defeated Mel Sims.

Cutting Edge despite being a player short managed to defeat Smashing Pumpkins 6-4, thanks to a treble from David Polhill and two from Peter Vincent with David and Peter winning the doubles.
For Smashing Pumpkins a win and a walkover for Oliver Howard plus a walkover for Simon Howard and Prevesh Ramnath.

Blade Runners defeated Swifts 8-2 with a treble from the hard hitting Annick Lieutaud plus two each from Adrian Sykes and Keith Johnson. Keith and Adrian defeated Swifts Alanna Blain and Claudia Hough 19-17. 11-7, 10-12, 11-5 in the doubles
For Swifts a win for Alanna Blain and Claudia Hough.

A competitive! match between Dangermen and Burning Rubber ended five games all.
Dangermen man of the match Tony Pells with a treble coupled with one each from Colin Cooper and Ron Bailham earned their team the draw. 
For Burning Rubbers two for Steve Lee plus one each for Chris Slade and Gavin Pitts with a thrilling five setter win in the doubles for Steve Lee and Gavin Pitts over Tony Pells and Colin Cooper to give Burning Rubber the draw.
