Week 20

Premier Division

Premier leaders Spinners, despite postponing this week’s match against Allstars still lead the division.

Divergents second in the table defeated Crawley Knights who were a player short 6-3 Divergents Daniel Pound continues to lead the way with two wins and Sally Hughes with one win.Crawley Knights Josef Krakovsky played well to defeat Both Sally Hughes and Minesh Agnihotri with Fawzi Yousif also winning one over Minesh.

A fired-up Dynamos team defeated Hang Em High 5-4 to keep them in fourth place. Dynamo’s Matthew Caddy beat Both Michael Bridger and Andrew Sharland, Richard Caddy also had two wins with Richard Cosens coming in with one to give his team a 5-4 win. For Hang Em High it was two wins for both Christian Vincent and Michael Bridger.

Ping Panthers came away 7-2 winners over Crawley Community. Sasha O’Halloran starred with three wins followed by Peter Cracknell and Jeff Triggs with a pair each. Community’s wins came from Jacob Allonby with one and one also from junior Oscar Wiseman who came from two down to  defeat Peter Cracknell 12-10 in the fifth.

 

Conference Division One

An unusual match with both teams players short saw King Pongs Darius Mayhew and Paul Brinkhurst with two wins and a forfeit each and X Men also a player short . Peter Caddy and Robert Hoare had a game forfeited to them Final score 6-2 to King Pongs. This win puts King Pongs well on the way to premier play next season.

Pingwins had no trouble holding into spot number two. Defeating New Avengers 6-3. The Polhill family of David Polhill and Dan Polhill came through with three wins each while third player Matthew Chapman played well for no reward. New Avengers Robert and Luke Goff plus Prevesh Ramnath all had a win apiece.

The team of Magiks with Kevin Deacon, Phil Harvey and Alistair Blue had their first win, defeating Blade Runners 9-0. With many games going to four and five sets. Jenifer Watkins, Keith Johnson and Jonathan Buckley for the Blades all played well.

Spinderellas in an exciting close match came away 5-4 winners against Thunderbolts. Viv Cole was the star for Spinderellas winning three, Annabel Bridger helped her team to victory with two wins which included a five setter against Andy Steel. Third player Kate Bridger surprisingly lost all three games. Thunderbolts David Metcalfe had two good wins while Samantha Stoner and Andy Steel had one win apiece.
