First results of the new season.

The Up/Down doubles was contested by twenty players in two sections.

The winners of section 1 were Mathew Thomas and Colin O’Brien, with Mike Hill and Lyndsey Wright runners up   ( a very good effort on their part ).

In the second section Martyn Eyles and Veronica Meardon were runners up to Barry Stearman of Holsworthy and Alan Slade. 

In the semi-finals, Martyn and Veronica narrowly beat Mathew and Colin 12-10 12-14 11-8( Martyn and Mathew team mates whilst Colin and Veronica are playing partners), and in the other semi Barry and Alan won 11-6 11-9 against Mike and Lyndsey.

Veronica and Martyn became the new up/down doubles 2016 Champions beating Barry and Alan 11-3 9-11 11-9 in the final which after a one sided first game settled down to a tight finish.
