We had 26 participants making 13 pairs. This included some non-league players such as Bob Tucker, Ernie Maud, Graham Mitchell, Lee Farrant, Chris Skelton, Oli Lang, Ben G and Nathan O’Connell which was good to see given that, as discussed during our committee meeting, the Tony Whatley event was to encourage participation for all.

Due to numbers and not all being on TT365 we formed a line to rank based on the TT365 then slotting the rest from what we agreed would be their standard. Due to time available we then played on a top table basis on six tables for approximately 45 minutes until it was clear that each pairing had found their level so the top two tables after this time made the semi-finals who were:

·         Lee Farrant & Andrew Fowler vs Fred Batt & Mike Fawcett

·         Rob Gale & Christine Isaac vs Chris Lewis & Mike Hill

These played best of three to 11 with sudden death at 10-10 as per the top table games that preceded (albeit top table was a single leg to 11 with each match played to a result before moving up or down).

The winners then played a final best of three to decide the overall winners:

·         Lee Farrant & Andrew Fowler beat Mike Hill & Chris Lewis in that final.
