SNL 2018-19 Bigger than ever
The new season of the Scottish National League gets underway on
October the 13th at Bell's Sports Centre in Perth (the 2nd set of
fixtures are on 8thDecember and the final set on 9th February 2019).
Defending champions North Ayrshire will be seeking a 6th title since
the league was reconstituted in 2010. Drumchapel and Murrayfield
(with Krzysztof Borkowicz joining their squad) are
likely to be in the Division 1 mix while the Scottish Vets (with Gerry Campbell
and Stewart Crawford) likely to put in a good showing. Dumfries A
(with Keir Morton and Danny Bajwa) will be keen to build on their solid 5th
place last season. A talented young South Ayrshire
team (featuring Rebecca Plaistow and Harvey McDonald) will be looking
to make an impact having won Division 2 last year. North Ayrshire B &
Murryfield B are also likely to have competitive teams.
Glasgow South A & Dundee A are likely to be the teams to beat in Division 2.
This year sees a very welcome expansion of the league to five
divisions with Joe Wilson Table Tennis Club and Nuffield Health Milngavie
making their debuts in the
National League, while Edinburgh University and West Lothian return to
the SNL fold.
