Here we are again traveling back up to the hills to Stanley were the mighty West CAC take on the also mighty Backspin B and it was good to see some of the old faces still there.

The match kicked off with a great 5 ender when Michael Hepworth overcome Backspin’s number one 13-11 in the 5^th end, but the next set the evergreen Debbie Irwin beat West’s number one  Malcolm Deneven, another 5 ender in a hard fought game so well done Debbie. On the table came West wonder boy Alan Whitwham against Tom Marley and when he lost the first end everybody feared the worst and so it came to pass, Alan went down in 3 ends.

The shining star of the night was Yorkshire’s greatest export Michael Hepworth who put on a great display to win his last 2 sets and teamed up with Malcom to beat Debbie and Alex in 3 straight games. Malcolm won his remaining sets and showed his fighting spirit when in the 5^th end against Alex he was 10-6 down he saved 7 game points to win 13 15 and so gave West C their 1^st win of the season, so well played most of the team and well done to Alan who turned up.

The Player of the Match was a hard choice between me and Michael, but I am too modest and so it goes to Michael Hepworth tonight, well played that man,

Tonight I played below my very low standard but onward and upwards maybe.
