Match Report

Here is my 1st report of the season from the casualty department of West CAC, where 3 of my 5 brave players are on the injury list, Michael Hepworth, hand damage, myself, hamstring, and Declan Kelly who had a fight with a chainsaw and lost, had to go to Durham Hospital for an operation, but glad to say that he’s out today.

Well back to the match the team of Magic Mick Redfearn, Howard Forster and the brave Yorkshire man Michael Hepworth when the team travelled to Lanchester to play the Centurions. The 1st match Reuben Emery overcome Michael in 3 games, then Magic Mick had a ding-dong battle against Terry Charlton and lost 12-10 in the 5th, but West hit back Howard defeated John Williams in another 5 ender 11-8 and Michael’s win over Terry saw the match all square. Reuban and John won their doubles over Magic Mick and Howard in a great 5 games with some good rallies, after that the home side won 3 of the last 4 sets to make the final score 6-4.

The match, as you would expect was played in a good spirit and humour and a special praise must go to John Williams who played very well and deserved to win a set. Of course Player of the Match was Reuban Emery, so well played that Man.
