Rowhedge Summer League
| A Star is Born. Normally there is the occasional highlight that needs a special mention. This week, where do you start? Where do you finish? Have you left anything out? (Roger Clarke & Nigel Claydon) Rowhedge A, unbeaten league leaders up against Tollgate A (Martyn Green & Roger Hance ), winless and bottom of the league, must have contributed to the most memorable game ever played in this tournament since it's inception. A storming evening from the most unlikely source, Roger Hance, taking away Roger Clarkes' 100% record, winning both his singles and pairing up with Marty Green to win the doubles. Every game went the full distance, so each was very finely balanced, and although Tollgate ran out 4-1 winners, their 1st ever win, doubling their win total, nothing should be taken away from the valiant efforts of the Rowhedge pair. Well done to all four players but especially Roger Hance. |
