The Board of Table Tennis England is proposing to the Annual General Meeting that playing membership fees rise for the 2016/17 season. 

The proposition has been debated and supported by National Council.

Player Membership, frozen at £10 for adults and £5 for cadets and juniors this season, is proposed to be £12 for next season (£6 for cadets & juniors). 

The Board has agreed to freeze the Player Licence fee next season, although the Membership fee increase would of course be reflected in the overall Player Licence at £34 (£17 for Cadet and Junior).

Associate Membership will remain free of charge.

We’re pleased to say that 100% of the increase will go straight back into membership services.

Should the proposition be supported, all playing members will have the added benefit of Personal Accident insurance on top of the existing Public Liability insurance.

It means that any playing members who have an accident during the course of any table tennis activities will benefit from insurance cover.

The increase will also enhance a continued relationships between Table Tennis England and Table Tennis 365. We recognise the benefits that the Table Tennis 365 League Manager system offers to grass roots table tennis and we wish to not only help secure the future provision of this free service, but to help enhance it further for the direct benefit of members, clubs, leagues and counties.

The proposed fee increase is part of a strategy to invest in and improve services to our members over the next five years and beyond.

Currently only 7% of Table Tennis England’s annual income is derived from membership fees.

Changes to the structure of sport funding in this country mean that this figure will have to rise in order to safeguard the future of the sport, but Table Tennis England is committed to reinvesting membership income into membership services.

We will be sending an email to all Playing Members on Tuesday to inform them of this proposition.

League and County Company Members will receive the full rationale with their AGM papers.
