Rainham 3 improved on the result in the first half of the season in the match between these 2 sides but still couldn't prevent Cliffe Woods running out 7-3 winners. The 3 points was not a bad return against Woods who are very consistent and have now won 16 matches. Peter Mortley returned his 4th consecutive maximum and is clearly in very good form. Andy Larner picked up a double but came unstuck against Jim Davie as did Trevor Mortley. Peter Baker scored Rainham's 3rd point with a win also over Trevor and nearly pulled off a great comeback against Andy just losing in the 5th. Jaspal Plaha couldn't get on the scoresheet. So Rainham still have a chance of avoiding the drop with 4 matches to go but need a good result next week against one of the sides just above them, Chatham Dorset.
