Malcolm Newborough had a good night by recording a treble to get all of Howards points but he was hindered in his quest for a win by only having one teammate-Tim Swain who couldn't help his captain with even one win as he lost to Roger Chipperfield, Jacob Goodchild and Liu Yun Guo and Roger and Liu won the doubles in straight sets.  Gannet are tenth and Howard eighth.
