These two sides have an almost identical record this season so it was no surprise to see them share the points when they met at Newington Village Hall. Visitors' Rainham 2, needed a 5th leg Doubles victory to secure the draw and ensure the sides stay locked together in 8th and 9th positions in the table , 10 points above the relegation places. Andy Marchant registered his first hatrick of the season for Sturdee, needing to come back from 2 legs down against Mick Hambelton and also a 11-9 final leg success against Tim Davie which prevented Tim getting his treble having beaten Jill Shipton and Paul Snaith. That proved to be Paul's only loss as he triumphed against Mick and John Coleman. Jill couldn't  get on the scoresheet fairing best against Mick but ultimately losing 11-8 in the 5th.
