The Cumbria Schools' Table Tennis Individual Tournament took place on Sunday 9th February at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School. Four Barrow juniors made the trip to the east of the county. Alice Fitzsimmons, a pupil at Chetwynde School, played in the Under 13 Girls Final against Ana Gaskgill of Kirkby Stephen. This was Alice's first ever tournament and she played very well even though she lost in three sets.

James Peace, who attends St Peter's School, Ireleth, played in the Under 11 Boys event. He won 3 of his 4 group stage matches and qualified for the Quarter Finals. He was narrowly beaten in three close sets by Alfred Gaskgill from Kirkby Stephen.

Tommy Graham and Charlie Staunton, both pupils at Furness Academy, played in the Under 13 Boys event. Tommy finished third in the event after taking two good wins in the Final group. Charlie finished fifth with some very good displays. Charlie also played in the Under 16 Boys. He lost one of his group matches 10-12 in the deciding set but did beat Blue Walton in three very close sets that included the longest set of the day - a 20-18 win.

Well done to all four players. They are all very promising players who have only been playing a short time.
