Bottom of the table Coburg A put up a good show against Flixton B, which again on paper should have been a good win for Flixton. Instead they were held to a very close Flixton win 18-17.

There was a similar situation in Division 1 with high flying Burning Desire trouncing Hilton C 27-1 while second placed Acre Bottom also achieved maximum points beating Meadow Ben A 27-5. Hilton’s other junior team, the J team, went down to Irlam Steel 24-11 helped by a nine from Neville Singh. What? This has to be his best result of the season.

As the first half of the season draws to a close the remaining two weeks will be pivotal to the outcome of the season as in many divisions the top teams will be taking on each other.
