The top team in the Premier Division of the Bolton & District Table Tennis League, Ramsbottom Town A, had an expected result as they faced bottom team Hilton D winning out 27 – 3. The match saw the welcome return of Richard Lightowler who had been out most of the season after a knee operation. Second-placed Flixton Cricket Club A have their result to come against Radcliffe Cricket Club. Third-placed Ramsbottom Town B also had a good 19 – 9 win against Flixton Cricket Club B assisted by nine from Brian Clements. Fourth-placed Hilton A also capitalised on playing second bottom Ladybridge A as they ran out winners 26 – 14 with nines from Robert Hall and Andrew Michnowiec. A mid-table match had Little Lever Cricket Club A just beating a two-man Nomads 16 – 13.
In Division One, the top match was the clash of the top two teams. Burning Desire managed to beat second-placed Wigan TTC 19 – 14 despite a resisting nine from Daniel Watkinson. Third-placed Ramsbottom Town D had an easy 27 – 4 win over bottom team Meadow Ben A. Coburg in
Division Two leaders Saint Paul’s Peel had a 21 – 14 win over eighth-placed Ladybridge B with John Birchall putting up the resistance with nine for Ladybridge. Second-placed Polonia Club B surprisingly lost out 21 – 19 to second bottom Walkden Methodists. Third-placed Hilton E beat fourth-placed Heaton Cricket Club B 23 – 11 with nines coming from Matthew Kennedy and Jei Makino. In
In Division Three, Farnworth Social Circle C continue to show their superiority with a 24 – 12 win over fourth-placed Polonia Club C helped by nine from Ben Wyatt. Just squeezing into second place, Meadow Ben C beat fellow contender Meadow Hill A 17 – 15 despite a resisting nine from John Nuttall. Mid-table matches had Meadow Ben D beating Hilton G 18 – 14 with Martyn Rolling holding the fort with nine for Hilton and Albany just beat Hilton H 17 – 14 with Wes Jones on nine for Hilton. Towards the bottom of the table, Ladybridge C just pipped juniors Hilton I 18 – 17 assisted by nine from John Hilton and Irlam Steel capitalised on bottom team Meadow Hill B 26 – 6 with nines from David Yates and Matt Hood.
