On Wednesday, October 11th, PAKTS Galicja A squared off against the debutants PAKTS
Galicja B in an exciting local derby match. The evening was a showcase of top-notch table
tennis, with both teams giving their all from start to finish.

In the opening match, PAKTS Galicia #1 and last season’s Division 3 averages winner,
Pawel Mlynarski, delivered a strong performance against Dawid Domanski, a promising
league debutant. While Dawid put up a good fight, Pawel’s consistency prevailed, earning
him a 3-0 victory.

The second match featured Grzegorz Domanski going up against another debutant, Sylwia
Mlynarski. The game saw some impressive rallies, but Grzegorz secured another 3-0 win.
It’s fantastic and refreshing to see a new female player joining the league!

Next, Kamil Godlewski faced off against Piotr Cyrankowski. Kamil showcased his distinctive
playing style with impressive lobs and powerful shots from behind the court. Despite Piotr’s
significant improvement over the last six months, Kamil managed to clinch a 3-1 victory.

Following that, a match between father and son saw Dawid putting in another strong
performance, managing to take a set off his more experienced father Grzegorz.

Pawel then faced Piotr and cruised to another comfortable 3-0 victory.

At this point, players and spectators enjoyed some pizza and non-alcoholic beers. I can
personally attest to the excellent quality of the food—it was very tasty!

The next match had Kamil going up against Sylwia. Kamil emerged victorious with a 3-0 win,
though Sylwia played some excellent shots. Kamil was particularly sharp and made few
mistakes.

The doubles match was one of the closest of the night. The B team initially took the lead, but
the A team came back by winning the next two sets. The B team fought hard, pushing the
match to a fifth set, but narrowly lost in the end.

Grzegorz then secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Piotr, wrapping up a stellar individual
performance, having lost only one set all evening—well done!

The most competitive singles match of the night saw Kamil facing off against young Dawid.
Both players gave it their all in a true 50/50 contest. Kamil went 2-1 up, but Dawid came
back strong, winning the final two sets and the match 3-2. Dawid’s performance was
outstanding, and committee member and spectator John Czernenko was particularly
impressed.

The final match featured a husband-and-wife showdown between Pawel and Sylwia. Sylwia
saved her best for last and gave a strong effort, even managing to take Pawel to deuce in
the second set for the first time this season. However, Pawel’s form remained unstoppable,
and he won 3-0.

The evening was the culmination of over a year’s hard work where the most experienced A
team players trained and lent their experience to the players who now make up the new B
team. The competitive nature of the game which saw experienced and new players flourish
in a friendly environment is emblematic of a club that has already contributed so much to the
league in the short time it has existed.
