Action from the new season of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues commenced a few weeks back in respect of Divisions 2 and 3, whilst the opening week for the top flight took place on Wednesday.

The final 2 Divisions of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues culminated during the penultimate week of fixtures.

Last week had seen the double title success for the Lions table tennis club, but this week saw equivalent success for Whistlers table tennis club as their D clinched the 2nd Division crown and their F side finally navigated victory in the tightly contested 3rd Division.

Lions table tennis club has secured the first 2 x titles of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues this week.

The victories came at the top and bottom of the GTTA leagues, with Lions A taking the honours in the top flight and Lions J the title in the 4th Division.

With just a few weeks of the 2020/21 season to play, there are 2 Lions teams in need of just a single point to clinch the title in Divisions 1 and 4 of the Doric Insurance sponsored leagues.

Conversely Divisions 2 and 3 remain utterly tight with all to play for amongst the leading sides.

Action this week has seen 2 x Lions teams move extremely close to league titles in Divisions 1 and 4 of the Doric Insurance sponsored senior leagues, whilst it could not be tighter in Divisions 2 and 3 in the race for the title.

Competitive table tennis action made it's return this week following the enforced 2 month break due to lockdown in Guernsey. The Guernsey Table Tennis Association is continuing with the season that was around 60% completed prior to the break and has cut a round of fixtures, which roughly equates to 5 matches for each team.

The result of the cuts means that action only took place in Divisions 1 and 4 this week, with resumption in the others Divisions only occurring the following week.
