Trinity A remain top of division one despite back-to-back defeats. Amwlch A is unbeaten and now lie third after following a 23-13 victory over the league leaders. Paul Collins only dropped one game and is top of the individual standings. Keith Williams beat both Ken Connor and Stuart Dearden but was beaten in three straight by John Chan, who beat Ian Ault for the loss of one game. Police A are up to second after beating Amlwch B 30-7. Brian Cooke winning his encounters for the loss of only one game. Unfortunately, Reg Johnhad to retire when 2-0 up against James Wan and could not play his third singles game. Llandudno beat Henllan A 24-17, here Graham Heath won all three of his singles contests for the loss of only one game. Henllan A won the doubles 12-10 in the fifth and Melvyn Booker overcame Andy Lunt over five games. However, with Harold Furber losing another tight five-game encounter against Steve Nicholls, Henllan A is still searching for a first win of the season.
In the second division Rhyl B extended the lead at the top this week beating Craig-y-don B 27-9. Captain Chris Markey won nine games conceding just the one to Billy Hayes. He was ably supported by John Hughes who also won his encounters. The closet game of the night witnessed David Roe representing Craig-y-don B beating Fred Moore 11-9 in the decider. Second placed Craig-y-don A also remain unbeaten, overcoming Rhyl C 21-12. However, the strongest player on the night was Steve Lowe who won all his singles matches and teamed up with Colin Bliss to land the doubles for Rhyl C. Third placed Henllan B were again beaten, this week losing out to Police B. Peter Roberts proved the key, securing a maximum nine-point singles haul. Both Don Grigg and John Lovegrove prevailed in tight five-game encounters against Meirion Williams who represents Police B.
