Week One

Amlwch A is top the first division following a 30-3 over their B team. Paul Collins did not drop a game and is joint top of the individual standings after the first week. Each of the Amlwch B players; Matthew WinettEmyr Owen and Reg John, secured a point. Rhyl A lie second, they beat Police A 26-14, with Eliot Platt winning his three singles and the doubles with the help of Glen PhoenixTony Wan won two of his three encounters for the Police and both Roger Lee and James Wan lost tight five-game matches to Eliot and Barry Russ respectively. The closest fixture witnessed Y Morfa A beat Henllan A 21-19. Rob Stanway was involved in three five-game thrillers winning the doubles with Andy Horton and coming from two games down to beat Paul Hulme 15-13 in the decider, before losing out to Sean Lucas 10-12 the fifth. Sean won his three matches and Jonny Hughes secured two games on his first division debut for Henllan, but this was not enough. Trinity A secured a narrow 17-15 win over Llandudno led by John Chan winning all three and sharing top honours individually, having yet to drop a game. Both Steve Nicholls and Andy Lunt won two games for Llandudno but just lost out in a match that was five-all in encounters won.

In the second Division Rhyl B lead the way beating Police B 30-8. Both John Hughes and Norman Stagg won their three matches for the loss of only two games. Fred Moore lost three games on the night but also won all three of his matches. Peter Roberts came closest for Police B losing out 14-16 in the fifth to Fred. Henllan B lie second in the table following a 26-9 victory over Y Morfa BIain MacGillivray won all three for the loss of just two games, both to Steven Davies who beat both John Lovegrove and Chris WatkinsCraig-y-Don A beat Trinity B 24-16. Ady Waugh proved to be the strongest player on show. The closest of the three five-game matches witnessed Elliot Goddard overcoming Keith Potter 12-10 in the fifth
