Week Three

In the first division Rhyl A remain top and unbeaten this week beating Amlwch BEliot Platt has yet to be beaten and dropped only one game to Reg JohnReg beat both Glen Phoenix and Barrie Russ for the loss of one game. The closest game witnessed Barrie beating Matthew Winnett 11-9 in the fifth. Amlwch Aare also unbeaten and have only dropped four games in their two matches. Andy Horton representing Y Morfa A took a game from Paul Collins, but it was their sole success on the evening going down 1-30.

In the second division Rhyl B is eleven points clear at the top following a 30-2 win in the Rhyl derby. Colin Bliss earned two pints for Rhyl C by narrowly losing 19-21 in the fifth against Norman StaggRhyl Cdid not win any other games giving maximums to both John Hughes and Chris Markey, who also shone in their doubles victory. Craig-y-don A is the only other unbeaten team in the division, and they outpointed Police B 28-6. Ady Waugh secured a maximum and Tom Bird also won his three singles matches dropping only two games on the night, one to Stan Wan and the other to Alan LaveryHenllan B lie in third beating Trinity B 25-13, Ian MacGillivray proved their strongest plyer losing only one game on the night. Elliott Goddard proved to be Trinity B’s best player seeing off Chris Watkins 11-6 in the fifth and Don Grigg in three games. Don was involved in two five-game thrillers beating Robert Stewart but losing out to Andrew Chamberlain 10-12 in the decider.
