Week Two

Rhyl A are two from two and have a ten-point lead in the first division following a 26-11 victory over Henllan AEliot Platt again won nine games dropping only one to Melvyn BookerSean Lucas narrowly beat both Glen Phoenix and Barrie Russ in five-game encounters. Trinity A have also won both of their opening matches, this week seeing off Police A 25-14. Both John Chan and Stuart Dearden secured nine games each, losing one and three games respectively. Brian Cooke won five games on the night to be the top player representing Police A. Y Morfa A became the third team to winboth opening fixtures, this week beating Amlwch B 20-16. The two five-game ties both went the way of Y Morfa A with Rob Stanway overcoming Reg John and Chris Henderson narrowly beating Matthew Winnett 12-10 in the fifth.

In the second division Rhyl B lead the way beating Henllan B running out 29-12 winners. John Hughes and Chris Markey both won nine games, John is joint top of the individual standings losing only one game this week. Fred Moorewas involved in three five game matches. He won two but lost out to Don Grigg, this included a 16-18 game. Craig-y-Don A is the only other unbeaten team, they beat Craig-y-Don B 26-8. Ady Waugh landed a maximum and is joint top of the individual standings. Captain Keith Potter chipped with nine games losing only one game to Dave StrangeY Morfa Bmove up to third with a comfortable 30-5 win over Rhyl C. A maximum was achieved by Steven DavisMike Trbojevicand George Wooley had to work much harder to secure their nine games they were taken to a decider by Taylor Tabnorand Bridget Prescott respectively. The closest fixture witnessed Trinity B beating Police B 21-16. Peter Robertsrepresenting Police B proved the strongest player on the night. He secured his ninth game in the last match against Andrew Chamberlain from two games down. Another close game also went to Police B with Nigel McLaughlin beatingRobert Stewart 11-8 in the fifth. But with Elliot Goddard securing seven games and a further three in the doubles with his partner Robert Stewart it was Trinity B that prevailed.
