In the first division, Rhyl B beat Y Morfa A 23-14 in the only fixture played this week. John Hughes won all his singles dropping just the one game to Andy Horton, only Paul Collins has a better winning percentage in the top-flight this season. John teamed up with Barrie Russ in the doubles and they won 3-1. Barrie also won a topsy-turvy five-game encounter with Jason Coe. The other five-game battle witnessed Andy Horton beating Chris Markey 11-6 in the decider.
In the second division, Trinity B move to the top of pile following a 25-16 victory over Amlwch C. Emyr Owen representingAmlwch C proved to be the strongest player on the night winning all his singles including two in five-game thrillers. Charlie Hadcock was also involved in two five-game matches beating Ellis Hughes but losing out to Alan Hopper. Sixteen-year-old Ellis Hughes playing in his first match of season overcame his two narrow five game defeats by beating Mark Hadcock in three straight games. The Trinity B victory was secured by Alan Hoper and Rob Stewart both winning two singles and teaming up in the doubles to secure the win in yet another five-game tussle.
Henllan B lie second in the table despite losing their unbeaten start to the campaign in the Henllan derby. Henllan B lent the C team Chris Watkins who played as a replacement for Ciaran Lucas. Chris teamed up with Josh Parry to land the doubles without dropping a game, she also beat Don Grigg in three straight and took two games from Harold Furber and one from Iain MacGillivrey. Josh Parry, the Henllan C team captain led from the front winning all his singles encounters by a 3-1 score line. Marie Laffey took a game from Harold Furber which ensured that Henllan C won the derby 19-18.
Rhyl C beat Craig-y-don B 21-18, Steve Lowe achieved a maximum and remains unbeaten at the joint top of the individual averages. Tom Henry beat Bill Wells 13-11 in the fifth but lost out to Dave Strange 9-11 in another five-game match. While Taylor Tabner did not win any matches, she did extract two games from Bill Wells and another from Dave Stanage to ensure a Rhyl C victory.
