In the League Cup Division One Final, Trinity A narrowly prevailed on sets won 21-19 with the match ending five-all. Paul Colins beat both Ken Connor and Stuart Deardon 3-1, he was given the task of beating John Chan 3-0 in the final game on the evening to ensure the cup would be decided on points won. In an entertaining encounter he won the first two games but was taken to a fifth game decider before ensuring that he won each of his singles matches. The doubles went to fifth game decider in favour of Amlwch A and the closest match witnessed Stuart Deardon beat Keith Williams 11-8 in the fifth. Ken Connor and John Chan both beat Ian Ault 3-0. This score line was repeated by Ken Connor against Keith Williams to lay the foundation of Trinity A’s cup success.
In the Handicap Cup Final, Henllan A and Llandudno were evenly matched on handicaps, with Henllan A having three fewer points to accumulate. Steve Nicholls beat Melvyn Booker to 22 and Jonny Hughes to 34, also Andy Lunt beat Melvyn Booker to 32. However, Henllan A won the other seven matches to win the cup 476-432. Paul Hulme restricted Rob Walkerto 18 and beat both Steve Nicholls and Andy Lunt. Jonny Hughes also secured valuable points by restricting Rob Walker to 19 and scrapping home 40-39 against Andy Lunt.
In a Presidents Trophy Semi- Final, Rhyl B were given the task of restricting Rhyl C below an average of 33 points per game. Steve Lowe representing Rhyl C beat both Barry Russ and Fred Moore. However, John Hughes only dropped 68 points in his three singles. Rhyl B won the rest of the pairings with Fred Moore containing Marcus Wilton-Jones to 23 and Taylor Tabinor to 24, to ensure that Rhyl B is in the final, winning 511-497.
In the other semi-final Y Morfa A were set the task of restricting Henllan C below an average of 30 points per game. Andy Horton only dropped 59 points in his three singles matches. However, Josh Parry beat Jay Coe to 21 and Chris Henderson to 19 to redress the balance. But in a pivotal encounter Simon Harris representing Henllan C beat Jay Coe 40-34 to secure Henllan C a place in the final, they ran out 494-465 winners.
In the second division, Henllan B beat Craig-y-don B 25-10 to secure the runners up birth. Harold Furber and Iain MacGillivray both won their singles matches dropping one game each. Bill Wells and Bob Hughes were given another chance in the doubles against Harrold and Iain but went down 11-7 in a fifth game decider. Dave Strange and Bob Hughes both beat Chris Watkins but she secured a valuable 3-0 victory over Bill Wells.
Police B were now 33 points behind Henllan B in third and conceded their outstanding fixture against Amlwch B, unable to catch Henllan B and clear in third postion in the division.
Henllan C completed their fixtures with a two-man team taking on both Amlwch B and Amlwch C. Credit to Don Grigg stepping as a substitute and playing eight games in one night. Don Grigg and Josh Parry achieved maximums against Amlwch C and paired up to land the doubles 3-0, for a 21-9 win. Don Grigg was swept aside both Ben Sutcliffe and Andy Lloyd, but rounded off a splendid evening coming back from two down to beat Caren Ault 11-6 in a fifth game decider. Josh Parry beat Caren Ault in three and Ben Sutcliffe in four. Andy Lloyd secured the individual honours (97.1%, one loss) beating third placed Josh Parry over four games. The match score was 24-10 this ensured that Amlwch B won the division by hundred points, dropping only twelve sets over the whole season.
