In the President’s Trophy Quarterfinal, Rhyl C and Y Morfa B were handicapped within two points of each other. However, Rhyl C won seven of the ten encounters to progress to the semi-final. Steve Lowe and Marcus Wilton-Jones won each of their singles and they teamed up to land the doubles.

In the first division, Amlwch A consolidated their title with a 22-15 win over Police AJames Wan took a game from both Paul Collins and Keith Williams and beat Emyr Owen in a five-game thriller. Brian Cooke and Roger Lee both beat Emyr and teamed up to beat Paul and Keith in the doubles, dropping just one game. Police A lie third in the table twenty-two points behind Trinity A with one game to play.

Rhyl B closed the gap to thirty points behind Henllan A with a game in hand following a 20-17 victory over their rivals. John Hughes won all his singles including a close five-game battle with Paul Hulme where he prevailed 13-11 in the decider. He paired up with Chris Markey to win the doubles 3-0. Paul Hulme and Melvyn Booker won two games each and Sean Lucas one to level the scores going into the final match. Barrie Russ played a steady game to beat Sean in three straight games to secure the match. 

At the foot of the table Y Morfa A edged an 18-17 victory over Craig-y-don ATom Bird secured a maximum and Ross Lander also did not drop a game against Chris Henderspn. The closet encounter of night witnessed Chris Henderson beat Ady Waugh in a five-game thriller.

In the second division, Amlwch B remain unbeaten, this week beating third placed Trinity B 30-6. Caren Ault came through two close five-game deciders winning 14-12 against John Lovegrove and 11-9 against Ellis Hughes.

Police B lie in third after a 29-4 win over Amlwch CPeter Roberts secured a maximum in both his singles and the doubles games with the help of Nigel McLaughlin in the latter. Charlie Hadcock provided the most resistance for the islanders taking a game from Alan Lavery before beating Nigel in a five game-battle.

Rhyl C narrowly beat Henllan C 20-17. In the game of the evening, two players of division one ability played an excellent match. Josh Parry representing Henllan C won 11-9 at the expense of Steve Lowe. The doubles, another five-game thriller gave some recompense for Steve with the help of Taylor Tabinor they won 11-9 in the fifth game. Peter Barrow beat Taylor 11-9 in yet another five-game encounter.

Y Morfa B beat Craig Y Don B 25-13. Steve Davies proved the strongest player on the night winning all three singles including a very tight five-game encounter with Keith Potter. Keith was involved in two further  five-game battlesbeating both Dave Meadows and Mike Trbojevic.
