Happy New Year, find attached some guidance for the 2024 cup competitions and also the player handicaps.
Handicap Cup/Presidents Trophy:
These game are played to forty with service changing every five points and include a doubles.
Play starts from 0-0 and players change ends when twenty points is first reached.
Three players maximum per team (no fourth team player may play in the doubles).
The winners are the team with the highest points tally when the players handicaps are added to the team points secured on the night.
The Presidents Trophy is for teams that lose their first match in the Handicap Cup competition and fielded a full team of three players.
League Cup:
Two competitions here, one for the first division and one for the second.
These matches are played to eleven best of five as per the league programme.
However, the doubles is not played and it is the sets that are counted and not the games.
The first team to reach five sets wins goes through to the next round, although hopefully all games will be played if this target is reached before the final game.
There is once again no consolation cup competition this year.
The full cup draws are on theTT365 Website and in the Handbook.
In cup competitions It is inadvisable for players to play as a substitute for different team within their club, they will become 'cup tied' and can no longer play for their own team.
Cup matches should be played on the scheduled date to avoid fixture backlogs.
Postponed matches should be rearranged swiftly and any problems reported to the fixture secretary asap.
Rearranged cup matches take priority over league matches.
Cup finals (Handicap/Presidents/League One/League Two) can be mutually arranged by the captains or with the help of the Fixtures Secretary ideally at a neutral venue.
Only players that have played in three league matches prior to a final can play in any cup final.
