The 2023 Welsh National Table Tennis Championships took place last weekend in Cardiff. This was the hundredth year of Table Tennis in Wales. 

Tom Bird played in the Cadet Singles and progressed as runner up from his group having lost out to Harry Street in a five-game thriller. In the quarter-final he beat Oliver Jordan in three straight games. Tom then won his semi-final 3-1 at the expense of Daniel Mead. In the final he lost out to Toby Harwood to finish runner up, a fine achievement.

Other Llandudno league players at the tournament were Jonny Hughes and Josh Parry in the Men’s singles and doubles and Barry Russ in the veterans over 70’s who gave their all in their competitions.
