News - Week Five

In division one only two games to report this week, Amlwch B remain unbeaten and close the gap on leaders Police A to fourteen points: with a game in hand, following a 30-7 victory over Henllan A. Henllan A were unable to win an encounter, although Sean Lucas took both Reg John and Andrew Lloyd to a fifth game decider. 

Rhyl A is also unbeaten, this week over coming Llandudno 21-15. David Daniels won each of his singles, the closet a five-game battle with Andy Lunt. David teamed up with John Hughes to land the doubles in three straight games. Andy Lunt came from two games down to beat John Hughes 11-1 in the decider. Rob WalkerAndy Lunt and Steve Nicholls all beat Barrie Russ dropping only one game in total, but it was not enough.

 

In division two Craig y Don A march on upwards beating Henllan B 28-10 to remain unbeaten, topping the table nineteen points. Ady Waugh dropped only one singles game to Chris Watkins and Dave Foster dropped two, both to Iain MacGillivray. The third five-game encounter witnessed Keith Potter winning out against Chris Watkins.

Trinity B remain second position landing twenty-five points this week, with both Andrew Chamberlain and John Lovegrove each winning their singles each dropping only two games in total. Y Morfa B secured eleven points in total with Steven Davies achieving two from John and one from Andrew and beating Rob Stewart in three straight games.

Police B remain unbeaten in third position, they beat fourth placed Trinity C 27-16. Stan Wan was involved in three five-game thrillers beating both Kevin Hu and Alan Hopper but losing out to Ellis Hughes. Ellis also beat Peter Roberts but lost out to ‘man of the match’ Kevin Evans. Kevin was denied a maximum dropping a game to Alan Hopper.

Rhyl C beat two-man Amlwch C 21-13 with Peter Higgins not dropping a game on the night. Charlie Hadock and Mark Hadcockboth beat Andy Chambers and Marcus Wilton-Jones, although Mark was taken into a tight fifth set against Marcus.
