News - Week Four

In division one Police A is thirty points clear at the top of the table, being the only team to have played four fixtures. This week they beat Llandudno 24-13. Brian Cooke won each of his singles encounters but was pushed to fifth game decider by Andy LuntRoger Lee also prevailed in a five-game thriller at the expense of Steve Nicholls

Trinity A lie second following a 24-8 win over Rhyl B, with John Chan securing a maximum, he was ably supported by Stuart Dearden who dropped only one game to Fred MooreSteve Lowe and Barry Russ both beat Eddie Chan in three straight games. 

The table will undoubtfully alter as teams catch up their postponed matches. The champions Amlwch A will not start their campaign until week six they have rearranged all but one of their postponed October fixtures.

 

In division two Craig y Don A continue dominate at the top, being clear by sixteen points. Both Ady Waugh and Ross Landerachieved maximums and landed the doubles in a tight five-game clash. Alan Hopper representing Trinity C overcame Keith Potter in a third five-game battle. 

Trinity B fill second position with Andrew Chamberlain landing a maximum. Marcus Wilton-Jones representing Rhyl C was involved in two titanic five-game matches beating Rob Stewart but losing out 10-12 in a decider against John Lovegrove

Police B remain unbeaten in third position with all their players; Stan WanNigel McLaughlin and Peter Roberts recording maximums. Crag-y-Don C avoided a being wiped-out, when Bill Wells and Steve Albinson secured two points in the doubles, going down 11-7 in the decider. 

Henllan B is fourth following a 21-12 victory over Amlwch C. Here a two-man Henllan B team won each of their matches. Charlie Hadcock provided the sternest resistance taking a game from Don Grigg and two from Iain McGillivray

The final fixture this week witnessed Y Morfa beating Craig Y Don B 25-13. David Meadows notched up a maximum. Three five-game matches were recorded with Dave Strange overcoming Mike Trbojevic and Telor Jones beating Steven Davies. The closest was the doubles where Dave Meadows and Steven Davies prevailed 11-9 in the decider at the expense of Ged Haresnape and Telor Jones.
