Teams from England, Guernsey, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Scotland & Wales competed in the Home Nations event in Dublin, hosted by Ireland 29th Sept-1st Ocober.
Paul, representing Wales, led the Welsh team to a Silver medal, with their only defeat losing narrowly to a strong English team.Paul also teamed up with Phil Biggs in the doubles event & got their revenge over the English team in the semi-final, but losing out in the final to the Irish pair.
On the final day of competition Paul went one better than his 2 silver medals by taking the prestigious gold medal in the singles event. En route he defeated 2 scots, an Irishman, a Manxman & in the final a top Englishman, all without dropping a game.
Paul commented afterwards that it was one of the best venues he had ever played in & he thanked the ITTA for a superbly organised event. He also paid tribute to the rest of the Welsh squad for their support & congratulated those who had also won medals. Paul became only the 4th ever Welsh player to win a Gold Medal at these International events.
