In the quarter finals of the Handicap Cup, Y Morfa A were set the task of restricting Trinity C to below an average of thirty-two points per game. They achieved their target in only four encounters Andy Horton beat Kate Lai to 19 points and Andy Hughes to 24 points. Jason Coe beat Kate to 29 and Chris Henderson restricted Andy Hughes to 22 points. However, each of the second division players recorded wins over first division opposition. Ellis Hughes and Kate Lai both beat Chris Henderson to 31 and 33 points respectively. Andy Hughes beat Jason Coe 40-29 to ensure that Trinity C is through to the semi-final winning 552-518.
In the first division, Henllan A completed their season with a tremendous 28-8 victory over Llandudno and now lie second in the table. Jonny Hughes was the ‘man of the match’ dropping one game to both Andy Lunt and Steve Nicholls. The game of the evening witnessed Josh Parry winning a five-game thriller against Andy Lunt that included hard hitting and some fantastic rallies. Andy Lunt secured the sole Llandudno victory on the night beating Sean Lucas 3-1.
Police A lie third in the table following a 25-13 win against Trinity A. Mark Pugh won his singles and teamed up with Brian Cooke to the land the doubles. The closest battle witnessed Mark Pugh beat Stuart Dearden 16-14 in a fifth game decider. Another five-tussle resulted in second division Ellis Hughes, playing as a substitute, beating James Wan after losing the first two games. In yet another five-game tie Stuart Dearden beat Brian Cooke 11-7 in the fifth game.
Rhyl B won their first game of the season 20-15 at the expense of bottom of the table Y Morfa A. Ben Moore won his three singles but was taken to 11-9 in the fifth by Andy Horton. Ben teamed up with his dad Fred Moore to secure the doubles in three straight games. Andy Horton achieved eight points on the night and Fred Moore five. Jason Coe overcame Fred Moore 11-8 in a fifth game decider but lost out 1-3 to Chris Markey. Chris Henderson won the 'two Chris encounter' in three straight games, but it was not enough.
In the second division, Craig-y-Don A is twenty-seven points clear at the top of the table following a 30-6 victory against Craig-y-Don C. Dave Foster was the ‘man of the match’ dropping just one game to David Roe. Ross Lander and Keith Potter were both taken to a fifth game deciders by David Roe and Bill Wells took a game from Keith Potter.
Police B remain in second and unbeaten after a 26-12 victory over Amlwch C. Stan Wan won all his singles but required five games to see off Emyr Owen and four games to beat Mark Hadcock. Charlie Hadcock beat Peter Roberts 14-12 in a five-game thriller and Nigel McLaughlin beat both Emyr Owen and Mark Hadcock over four games.
Rhyl C failed to turn up for their fixture against Trinity C and the game was claimed by Trinity C as a 30-0 victory.
