In the quarter finals of the Handicap Cup Rhyl B were tasked with restricting Craig Y Don B below an average of twenty-eight points per game. Rhyl B achieved this in eight ties with Ben Moore keeping his opponents to an average of about seventeen points per game. Telor Jones was able to extract thirty points from Chris Markey and Bob Hughes beat Chris to thirty-four points, but it was not enough Rhyl B won the quarter final 519-474.

In another quarter final the evenly handicapped par of Llandudno and Police A fought a tremendous battle, the handicap gave Llandudno only two points start over the whole tie. Going into the deciding leg Llandudno had won five encounters against Police A’s four ties. The clearest win was in the ninth rubber where Graham Heath beat Roger Lee 40-21 to give Llandudno a sixteen-point lead. However, Brian Cooke representing Police A had been the strongest player beating Steve Nicholas to twenty-four points and Graham Heath to thirty-three points. Brian Cooke led Andy Lunt 39-22 but Andy dug in, finally going down 25-40 and winning a place in the semi-final for Llandudno by one point,

In the quarter finals of the President's Trophy the top two teams in second division met for a second time in a cup competition. Craig-y-Don A were tasked with restricting Police B below an average of thirty-seven points per game. They accomplished this task in four games with Ross Lander beating Peter Roberts to 30 and Nigel MacLaughlin to 31 points. Dave Foster and Ady Waugh also beat Nigel by 32 and 30 points respectively. However, Dave lost to both Peter and Stan. The closest game of the night witnessed Ady Waugh beat Stan Wan 40-39. Stan Wan beat Ross Lander 40-38 and Police B won the doubles 40-32 to secure a semi-final place.

Henllan B were tasked with restricting Craig-y-don C below an average of thirty-six points per game. They met their target in seven games with Melvyn Booker beating Enir Wyn Coates, Dave Tyrroll and Dave Roe by 19,19 and 23 points. Iain MacGillivray met his target in two games and Christine Watkins in one game against Enir. Wins for Craig-y-don C included both Dave’s beating Chris to 19 points and Dave Tyrroll beating Iain 40-32, this however was not enough. Henllan B won the tie 565-525 and progress to the semi-final where they will meet Police B.

In the first division, Amlwch A stretched their lead at the top of the table to sixty-nine points following victories over second placed Amlwch B 27 -7 and a 29-6 victory over fourth placed Rhyl A who could only field a two-man teamIn the Rhyl A encounrer Keith Williams won both of his games without dropping a game. Paul Collins and Ian Ault both dropped a game to David Daniels. Tom Bird produced the sole Rhyl A victory beating Ian Ault 11-7 in the fifth game in a topsy-turvy five-game battleIn the island derby Keith Williams only dropped one game and that was to Alfred MathewIan Ault also won his three singles but was taken to a fifth game decider by Andrew Lloyd. Isaac Gee was beaten in three straight games by Andrew Lloyd but won the student bragging rights beating Alfred again in three straight games, a feat Isaac repeated against Ben Sutcliffe.

Rhyl A had an easier time against second placed Amlwch B easing to 30-6 victory. John Hughes dropped just one game on the night to Ben SutcliffeTom Bird dropped to game to both Andrew Lloyd and Ben Sutcliffe, while David Daniels dropped a game to Ben Sutcliffe but was taken to a fifth game decider by Andrew Lloyd, which he won 11-9. 

In the second division, Rhyl C secured two victories beating Amlwch C 17-13 in a two-man each side encounter and Y Morfa B 23-13. Steve Lowe won all five of his singles over the two matches dropping only one game to Y Morfa C’s Mike Trbojevic. Steve also won both doubles matches teaming up with Marcus Wilton- Jones to defeat Amlwch C over four games and with the help Taylor Tabinor beat Y Morfa B over five games. Other notable encounters included Barrie Russ beating Mike Trbojevic 12-10 in the fifth game decider and Mark Hadcock beating Marcus Wilton-Jones 11-9 in another fifth-game battle. Steven Davies did well to beat first division registered Barrie Russ in three straight games.

Third placed Trinity B beat seventh placed Craig y Don B 20-17, with a man of the match performance by Rob Stewart who won his single dropping only one game to Bob Hughes. The five-game encounters included the doubles where Bob Hughes and Telor Jones beat Rob and John Lovegrove and the singles pairing between Bob and John in which Bob prevailed.
