In the first Division, Henllan A temporarily move into runners-up spot following a 25-14 victory over Rhyl B. However, ‘man of the match” was Ben Moore representing Rhyl B, he won all his singles scraping past Josh Parry and Paul Hulme 11-7 and 11-9 in entertaining five game battles. The other five-game encounter witnessed Jonny Hughes beating Fred Moore 11-8 in the fifth following some hard-hitting exchanges.

In the second division, Craig-y-Don A is eighteen points clear of their tittle challengers Police B, with the two teams still to face each other this season. This week Craig-y-Don A beat Rhyl C 25-14, Ross Lander, who heads the individual standings, won each of his singles dropping a game to both William Lin and Steve Lowe. Ross then teamed up with Ady Waugh to land the doubles in three straight games. Steve Lowe was the second strongest player in the tie beating both Ady Waugh and Dave Foster dropping only one game to Dave.

Police B is hanging on to the coat tails of the leaders following a narrow 23-17 victory over Craig-y-Don BPeter Roberts won his singles but was taken to a fifth-game decider by Telor JonesNigel McLaughlin had a busy night with all his singles being five-game battles, Nigel overcame David Strange but lost to both Bob Hughes and Telor JonesBob Hughes also beat Stan Wan in three straight games.

Trinity B consolidated third position in the division by narrowly beating Craig-y-don C 22-16, John Lovegrove proved to be the strongest player, although he was pushed hard by both David Roe and Enir Wyn Coates in five game encounters. David Roe got the better of Rob Stewart in another five-game battle and Steve Albinson overcame Roy Williams in a fourth game that went to a fifth game decider.

Trinity C remain in fourth despite losing out to fifth placed Henllan B 14-22. Ellis Hughes representing Trinity was the ‘man of the match’ winning his singles, coming from two down to beat Melvyn Booker over five games. Ellis teamed up with Zak O’Hara in the doubles but lost over five games to the Henllan pairing of Iain MacGillivray and Melvyn. Andrew Hughes beat Peter Barrow in another five-game match and Peter Barrow overcame Zak in the wooden spoon battle.

Amlwch C continue to improve, and the revival is led by Charlie Hadcock who was denied a maximum dropping one game to Dave Meadows in a 19-16 victory over Y Morfa B. Dave and Mike Trbojevic both beat Mark Hadcock and Gavin Callow. However, the islanders each beat George Wooley over three straight games and picked in vital games in defeat to secure the victory.
