The last thing you need when your bottom of the table is to receive a visit from Cliffe Woods with the classy Peter Davis in their line up. Davis duly recorded a treble on his seasonal debut  although Min Jie Guo did take a leg off him. Andy Larner also won all his games for Woods but was taken the distance by both Zhong Jiao Tan and Max Day. Max was, however, able to master the unique style of Trevor Mortley to get on the scoresheet and then teamed up with Min to win a closely contested Doubles for Dorset's 2nd point.
