Cliffe Woods 3 are now 9 games unbeaten as they started 2019 as they ended 2018 with another win,this time 8-2 against visitors Howard 4. Harrie Austin-Jones made his debut for Howard after transferring teams to help them field a full side after availability problems, but was unable to get on the scoresheet. He did take Andy Larner the distance but couldn't get the win. This proved to be Larner's sole success on the night as he was beaten by both David Scott and Martyn Hughes. Peter Mortley won all 3 for Woods as did Jason Davis who had to come back from 2 legs down to defeat Hughes 12-10 in the decider.
