For the 9th time this season Howard 4 played with only 2 players and were beaten 8-2 by Upnor who move up to 6th in Div 1. Martyn Hughes put in a good performance for the visitors winning twice and also nearly causing a shock win against Peter Worthington only losing in the 5th leg after leading 2-1. Chris Griffiths, playing only his 3rd match of the season, had a good chance to get on the scoresheet after taking the first two legs against Dave Gracey but the Upnor man fought back for the win. Special mention to Paul Werlemann who got his first win for sometime beating Griffiths in four legs. Howard are 5 points above the drop zone but have to play 4 of the top 5 in their remaining games so they have a difficult task to keep their Div 1 status especially if they continue to play with only 2 players.
