Howard 3 played their 2nd game this week and maintained their promotion push with a 7-3 victory over visiting Boxley 2. David Wong was in clinical form winning all 3 in straight legs and then joined Alex Clarke for a 4 leg Doubles success. Clarke earlier had just pipped Barry Roles in a close 5 leg battle and then beat Lyndon Gurr in 4 legs. However, he was outhit by Gary Hentschel who also beat John Kane who broke his bat at match point down. John borrowed a bat to complete his games and beat Gurr in the 5th but lost to Roles. On an adjoining table Rainham 2 surprising lost to Howard 4 which means that Howard 3 are now back in 2nd spot and have 2 fixtures against Rainham next week .
