Paul Paulding was Boxley's saviour in this match as he fought his way to an impressive treble.  His win over Vic Hope was the highlight as it went to an 11-9 decider in the fifth set.  He was backed up by a Bob Ellis brace who only lost to Graham Watts who got a double of his own.  Single wins for John Caplen and Vic Hope over the luckless Rob Czik plus a four set doubles win for Rainham meant this match ended in a hard fought draw.
