Andy Norwood posted a treble but was made to fight by the ever reliable Wayne Matthews, 11.6 in the decider, the latter also in good form, taking out Graham French in four legs. Tim Vaughan and Dave Bonner played well in patches, picking up a couple of legs  over Shane Jarret and Graham French respectively but the Howard players were just too good on the night.Matthews and Vaughan won the first double game but Norwood and French edged home in four to secure the 8,2 victory
