A fantastic encounter with five matches going the distance. Dave Bonner had three fifth leggers but was unlucky to only win one, going down 14,12 at the death against Gary Clarke after squandering a two leg lead. He did manage an impressive win over Rikki Clarke, winning the last leg 11,2. Wayne Matthews picked up another maximum, losing just one leg in the process. Tim Vaughan registered a brace and was halted from his treble by Rikki Clarke, who fought back well from two down to win 11,6 in the decider. Dave Barr also managed to get on the scoresheet with a 11,7 fifth leg win over Dave Bonner.
