Match Report
Howard raced into an 2 0 lead but that is all they could muster. Firstly Scarlet O'neil edged home against Dave McAulay then veteran Tony Bull rolled back the years with a terrific performance against youngster William McCarthy, winning in four. Martin Hewett as always, steadied the ship, with a fairly comfortable treble, although Robert Jaroszynski gave him a fright, winning one leg, 11,7. William McCarthy started to find his form, and was outstanding in his next two matches, winning both, without dropping a leg. Tony Bull started well against Skippy, and won the first two legs easily, and even had a match point but the latter fought back to win 11,8 in the fifth. The doubles was won by Howard to secure the 8,2 victory
